Child benefit is paid for a child or a young person who is under 16 years old. To qualify for Child Benefit you must be responsible for a child who lives with you. Lone parents usually get higher rate of Child benefits. You can claim Child Benefits regardless of whether you are employed or don't have a job at the moment.
Required Documents:
- You need to have a National Insurance Number
- And a UK Bank Account to apply for child benefits(Note: If you don't have these we will obtain them for you.)
- Original Child Birth Certificate
How long does it take?
It normally takes from 4 up to 6 weeks to claim Child benefits.
